The Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the Faculty of Natural Sciences at the University of Graz, Austria is seeking to appoint a
University Assistant with doctorate (Postdoc)
(40 hours a week; expected employment for the period of 6 years; Application deadline: June 19th 2019)
Job specification: The position will be within in the division Pharmaceutical Chemistry at the Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Graz, Austria. The successful candidate is expected to establish / expand a bioinformatics focus within the university framework of the Field of Excellence BioHealth. The successful candidate is expected to perform independent research in the field of Computational Biology/Bioinformatics including, but not limited to: computational biology approaches to study drug-genome/proteome interactions, molecular networks, genetic variation, post-translational protein modifications, pharmacogenomics, OMICS data integration, genotype to phenotype models, machine learning approaches combining laboratory and patient data, etc.
The position will be within the Network Pharmacology group headed by Ulrich Stelzl. The successful candidate will strengthen the key technology “computational biology” and work cooperatively within the field of excellence BioHealth. Upon successful evaluation of the Field of Excellence BioHealth the position may become permanent (research scientist).
