International Study Group on Systems Biology (ISGSB) Meeting

Monday, September 19, 2022 - 09:00 to Friday, September 23, 2022 - 18:00
Innsbruck, Austria
Event type:
The International Study Group on Systems Biology (ISGSB) is a society of scientists performing cutting edge research in the field of systems biology. Conferences are held in a biannual rhythm to bring together open-minded scientists to discuss new and innovative approaches in systems biology. Our topics include, but are not restricted to metabolism, signalling, development, economic principles of cellular growth, multi-scale models, medical systems biology, and the development of new tools and methods. One of our focus topics in 2022 is systems oncology for breast cancer and we are happy to have the European MESI-STRAT consortium on board ( What distinguishes the ISGSB from other groups is the anti-hierarchical and very open mindset. The opinions of young researchers, such as PhD students or early postdocs, are as valued as the viewpoints of established and internationally renowned scientists. We actively encourage the exchange of controversial ideas. We value a fair and diverse scientific dispute, because we are convinced that the exchange of non-mainstream ideas and approaches is the strongest driver of scientific innovations. With these goals in mind, we organize our conferences in a friendly atmosphere. We aim at keeping things simple and thus the costs low. We allocate a large part of the time to formal and informal scientific discussions. We offer young scientists a platform to speak in front of an international audience by dedicating extra time to the Young Study Group on Systems Biology (YSGSB) and by allocating numerous presentation slots to early career researchers. ISGSB 2022 takes place 19 - 23 September at Innsbruck University in Austria, a beautiful location with exciting scientific perspectives. Join us!
